Geocom Resources Inc. (the "Company") is a U.S.-based mineral exploration company. Traded on the OTC:BB under the symbol GOCM, the Company is dedicated to acquiring and developing mineral resources in geologically permissible and politically stable arenas of the world. The Company focuses on projects that are or will be of interest to mid-size and major producers. By forming ventures on individual projects with such producers, the Company expects to grow and maintain an interest in mines operated by its partners, allowing it to continue to build value through continued exploration.
Geocom's business plan is to explore, acquire, and develop copper and gold properties in geopolitically stable and geologically permissible jurisdictions in North and South America. Our goal is to joint-venture the properties we develop with mid-size and major mining companies. By forming alliances with such companies, Geocom will continue its exploration and asset growth while its partners develop Geocom's assets to production.
How have we done so far? Overall, we have earned equity interests, or options to earn equity interests in Alaska, Argentina, and Chile through joint-ventures with mid-sized and major mining companies; BHP Billiton, Latin American Minerals, and Kinross Gold Corporation.
Joint venture with BHP Billiton
Through previous drill programs we discovered gold and copper at our Iliamna project in Alaska. A drill program was completed in late April 2006 and the results are pending from assays in the lab.
Joint venture with Latin American Minerals
Geocom drilled and discovered gold at the La Carolina project in Argentina, and in November 2005 the Company entered into a joint venture with Latin American Minerals to continue the exploration and development of the multiple targets at this project.
Geocom drilled gold at the Escorpion project in central Chile, a joint venture with a Chilean corporation. Geocom solidified its ownership of the Marcelita and Santa Rosa copper-gold properties in central Chile.
Exploration venture with Kinross Gold Corporation
Geocom acquired a substantial database and initiated exploration in an area of southern Chile that has been largely ignored, but which has immense ore body potential. The attractiveness of Geocom's initial exploration results resulted in the formation of an exploration venture with Kinross Gold Corporation, which was announced on March 21, 2006. A helicopter-supported reconnaissance program was completed in May 2006, and initial evaluation of results is very positive. Geocom and Kinross will meet soon to develop an action plan. Overall, the Company is very pleased with the initial results, which will be released after appropriate acquisition has been completed.
At each of our active projects, Geocom has successfully attracted well-known and capable venture partners with a common interest in the advancement of the projects. The Company intends to continue with this strategy to develop new projects, attract ventures with new partners, and build an asset base of properties in various stages of development, from exploration to production, to sustain the growth of the company.
